Location

Cottages are facing the beautiful and largest backwater, “Lake Vembanad” in Kumarakom Village, Kerala State.  “Relax In Nature’s Luxury” during all seasons including the rainy season. Experience Sunset, during the rainy season, rain coming from the faraway and maximum breadth and length of beautiful Lake Vembanad is a unique scenery from Cottages. There is no sound or air pollution. A gentle breeze with enhanced oxygen content and purity of air will rejuvenate, tensions and strains will be relieved by staying at this cottage. 

Bedrooms

This Cottage has two AC bedrooms, with basic comforts and moderately furnished to suit basic requirements. The main bedroom is a larger one and facing Lake Vembanad. The second bedroom is smaller and not facing the lake. Each bedroom has an air conditioner, fan, attached bathroom with hot and cold water, shower, European closet, Cable TV, and WIFI. The main bedroom has Electric Kettle and Steamer. Bedrooms have separate entrances and are also interconnected through the middle door which can also be locked from both sides. This is a better cottage for the guests who are coming with their children or old aged people.

Sit Out / Porch of bedrooms of Cottage

Each bedroom has a sit-out facing Lake Vembanad. The main bedrooms Sit out is larger than the second one. WIFI facility is available at the Porch, but there might be connectivity issues, so it is better to have alternate arrangements of WIFI, such as Jio / Idea or BSNL4 G Sim / Connections. The Sit out and part of the premises are covered on the top, for giving more comfort, especially during the rainy season.

Premises

Clean and tidy Premises right in front of the cottage, up to Lake Vembanad. Lawn with buffalo grass and concrete Path up to the edge of Vembanad Lake. You can have daily walking and exercise in front of the cottage.

Facilities within the property

Experience, Walkers Path for Walking and Exercise, Basketball Court, Shuttle Court, Table Tennis & Caroms, Organic Farm with Fruit Trees, Vegetation and Small Stingless Honey Bee. You can also Catch Fish from the lake, but you may release it back to the Lake for creating awareness for preserving nature. Drifting of Houseboats, Shikara, Motorboats, Fishermen’s Boats, and Speedboats, and unique fishing of Pearl Spot Fish (Karimeen) can be experienced from the Porch of Cottages. Basic facilities for Swimming, after getting the permission and obeying the instruction of the consultant, that also at Your Own Risk.

Restaurant & Lakeside Dining

 A safe place for having food and beverages, by keeping Social Distance, just in front of your Cottage. Vegetarian Food Package: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Rs 790 Per Person. Non Vegetarian Food Package: Vegetarian Breakfast, non Veg Lunch & Dinner Rs 1315 Per Person. You can also order the food and beverages by referring Menu Card. Add 5% Tax as extra to the total charges of Food & Beverages

Cruising in Shikara, Houseboat & Speed Boat

We arrange to cruise in a Shikara Boat, through the Lake for 2 Hours for Rs 2000. Cruising in a Houseboat @ Rs 1500 Per Hour, Lunch & Evening Snacks per person Rs 400.Speed Boat For 1 Hour Rs 2500. Pay directly the concerned charges to the service providers of above cruising.

Restaurant & Unique Dining Experience By Lakeside

The best safe place for you to have food and beverages by keeping Safe Social Distancing as there is enough space at the Lake Side, by maintaining Social Distancing with other guests. 

You can also have a great dining experience by the Lakeside, that too, just in front of your lakeside cottages. Usually, we serve food, at the Dining Hall to all the guests for the purpose of convenience and easy management. We serve Kerala Veg Meals, Fish Curry Meals, Tapioca, Chappathi, Karimeen Fry, Karimeen Pollichathu, Shrimps, Lobster, Crab, Chicken Biryani, Beef Biryani, Barbecued Chicken, Tandoori Chicken Etc on the basis of prior order and confirmation. You may please refer to our Menu Card, before you give us, the order.

The Check-In Time is from 2 pm, Check-out time is before 12 Noon.

Organic Farm

We have an Organic Farm where we have lots of Fruit Trees, such as Papaya, Vertical Farming of Passion Fruits, Spices, Medicinal Plants, Tubers, Trees, and Ayurvedic Plants. We have tapioca, papaya, etc throughout the year, irrespective of the rainy season. We have a minimum of two dishes every day, which are being prepared from the products, from the organic farm. Our farm is around 3 feet above the ground level, we made the farm by constructing a small wall around the farm and filled it with red sand, 8 years back. Therefore we have a live farm always, even it was alive during the time of the great Kerala flood of 2018.

Experience: Small Stingless Honey Bee (Meliponiculture)

We have at present 16 colonies of Small Stingless Honey Bee. They are part of biodiversity, these bees are local species, perfectly adapted to the environment. They are the main pollinators and produce incomparable quality honey, strong flavor, slightly acidic.

Houseboat /Shikara Cruising

We arrange Cruising in Houseboat, Motorboats, Shikara or in a Speed boat, you can have it from this property itself. you will get the speed boat for an hourly rate and all other types of the boat will be available for a minimum of 2 hours.

Power and Solar Power

We have a 100 KVA Transformer on our property for meeting our power requirements. We also have a 40 KVA Diesel Cummins Generator for the backup. We have 5 KV Solar Panel (TATA) as further back up for running the fans and lights and 6 Solar Powered Water Heaters (V Guard) with back up, which gives hot water to all the guests.

Waste Management

We have a Biogas Plant to manage our entire food waste, Vermicompost, EM Compost, and an incinerator manages complete solid waste of our property. Therefore, our property is clean and tidy.

Parking Space

We have enough parking area within our compound wall, in front of our office, for the safe parking of more than 40 cars.

Medical Help & Assistance

We arrange, if there is a requirement for medical help to any of our guests, during their stay with us.
